The Willful King and His Doom

Daniel 11:36-45

11
Chapter 11
36 And the king will do according to his favor and will raise himself and will magnify himself above every god and above the God of gods. He will speak extraordinary things and will succeed until completion of wrath, for it has been determined; it has been done. 37 And concerning the God of his fathers he will not understand, and concerning the desire of women, and concerning every god he will not understand, for he will magnify himself over all. 38 And to a god of strong ones upon his seat he will honor, and to a god whom his fathers did not know he will honor with gold and with silver and with a precious stone and with desirable treasures. 39 And he will make for the fortifiers of strongholds with a foreign god that he will acknowledge; he will multiply glory, and he will cause them to rule over many, and he will divide land for a price. 40 And at the time of the end the king of the South will collide with him, and the king of the North will storm against him with chariots and horsemen and many ships. And he will come into lands and flood them and pass through. 41 And he will enter the land of the Beauty, and many will stumble. And these will escape from his hand—Edom and Moab, the first portion of the sons of Ammon. 42 And he will send his hand in lands, and the land of Egypt will not be for an escape. 43 And he will rule over the treasures of gold and silver and over all the desirable things of Egypt, and Libyans and Cushites at his steps. 44 And reports from the east and from the north will terrify him, and he will go out with great wrath to destroy and to ban many. 45 And he will plant his tents of Apadno between seas to the mountain of beauty holy, and he will come to his end, and there is no helper for him.
